Fozzy Stack launches his training career with four runners at Naas.
Stack, who took over the licence from his father Tommy at the end of last year, will be hoping to make a bright start with Onenightidreamed in a race the six-year-old won two years ago.

A dual winner at Group 3 level, Onenightidreamed will be attempting to become the fifth winner of the race trained at Thomastown Castle, from where Stack snr sent out Battle Standard (1991), Tolpuddle (2004) and Pollen (2009) to land the mile prize.

Sea Wolf, one of two runners for Ger Lyons, who is also represented by Brendan Brackan, will be renewing rivalry with the Dermot Weld-trained Sikandarabad, whom he beat by half a length when they ran first and second respectively in the Irish Cambridgeshire last season.

Lyons will be seeking a first win in the race, while Weld achieved the most recent of his five winners when Stuccodor was successful in 2014.

The Paul Deegan-trained Aussie Valentine will be attempting to make it third time lucky having finished runner-up in the race in the last two years.

No British-trained horse has won the race and Richard Fahey will be trying to remedy that situation with four-time winner Spring Offensive.

Marshall Jennings, who represents Jessica Harrington, is the only course-and-distance winner in the line-up.

What they say

Fozzy Stack, trainer of Onenightidreamed
He seems well but he’s got top weight and although we’re claiming 7lb, it’s not an easy race to win with a big weight. He’ll love the ground and it would be a grand start to the season if he won, but we’re going there more in hope than expectation.

Dermot Weld, trainer of Sikandarabad
He’s got plenty of weight but I expect him to perform well. However, most of my horses were more forward a month ago than they are now due to the bad weather we’ve had recently.

Damian English, trainer of Red Avenger and Tribal Path
Red Avenger has plenty of ability but has been getting upset in the stalls and being drawn 18 of 18 isn’t ideal. Tribal Path has a good draw and should have come on a good bit for his recent run at Dundalk.

Richard Fahey, trainer of Spring Offensive
I don’t think he has anything hidden from the handicapper but is fit and well and goes on any ground.

Denis Hogan, trainer of Tithonus
He goes on the ground but the trip is a worry – he’s won over five, six and seven furlongs, but not over a mile. We said we’d have a go at it given it’s such a nice pot and he has a lovely weight.

Paul Deegan, trainer of Aussie Valentine
He ran well at Dundalk last month and hopefully he’ll have come on for it. I’m hoping the soft ground will suit.

Ado McGuinness, trainer of Specific Gravity
He’s been in great form at Dundalk. I’m concerned about the soft ground, but he has a nice draw.

Harry Rogers, trainer of Gentil J
She’s well and the soft ground will suit. She needs to come from behind so will need luck in running.

Johnny Levins, trainer of Mr Right and Brokopondo
Brokopondo is fit and we’re hoping for a nice run. We’re taking a bit of a chance with Mr Right. He’s won on testing ground but over less than a mile, so the conditions could test him over the distance.
