'She's in good form after a decent winter break' - Alan King in confident mood

Thursday: 2.30 Ludlow
George Rickards 30th Birthday Mares' Handicap Hurdle | 3m | 4yo+ fillies and mares | RTV

It's worth noting when Alan King has one in this mares' handicap hurdle as his only two runners have won.

Topweight Wynn House represents the trainer this year and her form when a staying-on fourth behind Martello Sky and Indefatigable at Cheltenham last time catches the eye.

They are two of Britain's best mares and Wynn House made an eyecatching amount of late headway having been last rounding the home turn.

On that evidence the return to three miles is worth another try and she will surely go close in this weaker race dropped 1lb in the ratings.

Donald McCain is operating at an excellent 24 per cent strike-rate this season and backing his runners to a £1 stake is showing a profit for the first time since the 2011-12 campaign (+£34.48).

He saddles the talented Could Be Trouble, who was sent off just 5-1 to defeat Mares' Novices' Chase hopefuls The Glancing Queen and Vienna Court in a Listed novice chase at Bangor in November.

She was outclassed there and on her next outing at Sandown, but may have struggled with her breathing. A wind op sparked an improved effort at this track on her previous start but three miles is a step into the unknown.

The only mares with winning form over the distance are nine-year-old Whatsdastory and Go Chique, who could go well if the ground doesn't ease too much with Nico de Boinville taking over in the saddle from a conditional. He was on board for the mare's last victory.

What they say

Alan King, trainer of Wynn House
She had been due to run at Ascot until the ground turned soft but is in good form after a decent winter break. She ran a couple of decent races in the autumn and has won around Ludlow before.

Jonjo O'Neill, trainer of Sacre Coeur
She's been running well of late without winning and deserves a change of luck. She's hard to win with, to be honest, but has a chance.

Richard Newland, trainer of Whatsdastory
She was runner-up in this race a couple of years ago and we're sending her back over hurdles as her jumping has rather fallen apart over fences. She may well stay over hurdles but this will tell us plenty.

Charlie Longsdon, trainer of Glimpse Of Gala
She's a bit high in the handicap at the moment hence we're taking 7lb off her back. She'll appreciate the drying ground and goes there with a decent each-way chance.

Jennie Candlish, trainer of Stop Talking
She took well to the visor first time when winning at Doncaster last time and hopefully it will do the trick again. One negative would be if they get a lot of rain.

Tom Palin, spokesman for Middleham Park Racing, owners of Go Chique
Three miles on quickish ground around a sharp track is her bag but if they get the rain they say is forecast she would be a doubtful runner. The plan with her long term is to send her chasing in the summer.
