Roger Varian has won two Derby trials in the last week with horses priced at 12-1 and 14-1, but the odds about his runner in this Oaks trial, Teona, won’t be anywhere near as generous.
Teona has a Group 1 pedigree on both sides. The daughter of Sea The Stars is out of Ambivalent, who won the Pretty Polly at the Curragh for these connections in 2013, and Teona has shown plenty of ability of her own in two outings on the all-weather at Newcastle.
