Royal Ascot - ITV Racing Tips
Racing Post experts pick their best bet for the day for the third day of Royal Ascot in a bid to help you find more winners.
Jersey Stakes - LORD OF THE LODGE
Karl Burke’s colt was a highly promising juvenile last term and confirmed he has trained on with a cosy success at Newcastle on his reappearance. He steps up to 7f for the first time but shapes as though he will stay and may even improve for the longer trip. (Kevin Morley)
Britannia Stakes - FINEST SOUND
Simon Crisford landed this two years ago with Ostilio and his runner can repeat the trick for the Newmarket trainer who now trains with his son Ed. Finest Sound displayed plenty of potential in three novice starts as a juvenile and improved with a wide-margin handicap win at Haydock on reappearance.

Race 1 - 1.50 Ascot
Preference is for FOX TAL, who was third in the Champion Stakes on soft when last seen in the autumn. Andrew Balding's charge was well positioned in that race but it was still a cracking effort on only his sixth career start and his stable's form in the last couple of weeks provides hope that he can pick up where he left off.
Race 2 - 2.25 Ascot
MONARCH OF EGYPT has leading claims on his good runs behind Siskin last summer and had a troubled passage when unable to threaten that top-notch rival in the Irish 2,000 Guineas on his reappearance last Friday. This is a drop back in class for the selection, who has contested Group 1 contests on his last four outings.
Race 3 - 3.00 Ascot
Charlie Appleby won this race last year with Pinatubo and his MODERN NEWS, another son of Shamardal, makes the most appeal.
Race 4 - 3.15 Newmarket
This looks a good opportunity for ESCAPE THE CITY who is back in a Class 5 for the first time since winning last September.
Race 5 - 3.35 Ascot
The odds are prohibitive but it is hard to see beyond top stayer STRADIVARIUS, who beat a stronger field than today's when having the likes of Vazirabad and Order Of St George behind in this in 2018 and also faces a marginally easier line-up than he did when winning here again last year.
Race 6 - 4.10 Ascot
John Gosden would appear to have a strong hand with Enemy, who looks sure to appreciate this greater test of stamina, and VERBOTEN, who came home like a lion behindZiggle Pops on the AW at Lingfield recently and will relish the return to 1m
Race 7 - 4.40 Ascot
Always fiercely competitive, but AFRICAN DREAM (nap) will feel let loose off only 8st and she looks thrown in. At Newbury seven days ago she only narrowly failed to concede 7lb to a filly who very nearly won last season's Group 2 Rockfel Stakes and will run off a 16lb higher mark in future.
