Winners of the Prix Morny usually find a good spot at stud, and 2012 victor Reckless Abandon was no exception.

But things did not work out for the Clive Cox-trained Group 1 winner, who carried the same colours as today’s fancy Tis Marvellous, despite his future looking assured when Darley bought his breeding rights before he ended the season unbeaten in the Middle Park.

Reckless Abandon failed to prove a viable stallion proposition and then failed again when returned to the racecourse. But having been rehomed by Godolphin he has been reinvented as a polo pony and is a happy horse once again.
