Progressive Twaasol out to strengthen Classic claims in Pat Eddery Stakes

Toronado and Kodi Bear are among the most famous graduates from the Pat Eddery Stakes in recent years and this year's edition could certainly unearth another top prospect.

It may be a Listed event but there is plenty of Group-level form brought to the table with Saeiqa's third in the Coventry Stakes at Royal Ascot and Saint Lawrence finishing fourth in the Superlative Stakes at Newmarket.

One of those who looks capable of cutting it at a higher level is Owen Burrows-trained Twaasol. The son of Adaay stormed home to win Epsom's Woodcote Stakes on Derby day, earning him quotes as short as 20-1 for next season's Qipco 2,000 Guineas.

Burrows is hoping he can take the next step now upped to Listed level. He said: "He did it nicely at Epsom and I've been pleased with him since. We've won a novice, then a conditions race and hopefully we can move up to Listed next.

"We're still learning with him and we're going up a furlong in trip, so we'll see what else is in store."

Chindit and Cobh add further intrigue following impressive debut wins, while Godolphin are represented by the regally-bred Naval Crown.

He's a nice colt and ran well at Newmarket. We're happy with him at home and we're looking forward to running again.
