All the latest as Vinndication and Lil Rockerfeller go head to head at Ascot
The first fixture of the two-day pre-Christmas meeting at Ascot features two Grade 2s, the Kennel Gate Novices' Hurdle and the Noel Novices' Chase.
The novice chase has attracted a select group of four runners, including the unbeaten Vinndication and the admirable Lil Rockerfeller, while the novice hurdle has an exciting field of potential Supreme Novices' hopes.
Uttoxeter hosts the only other jumps action, with Southwell kicking off the all-weather fare before Dundalk and Wolverhampton extend the day's action into the evening.
Captain Lars, an 11-time winner in 2018, is the headline name at Southwell (2.40), with Wolverhampton's meeting featuring a decent Class 2 sprint (6.45).
Off the track final declarations for Saturday's racing will be confirmed, while entries for Coral Welsh Grand National day at Chepstow are also due.
