This contest is confined to horses who have run in a race in the series or who have been ballotted out of one and the first prize of €70,800 has attracted a field of 16.

Of those declared, 11 of the runners are winners, including the Tom Mullins-trained dual winner Powersville.

The Noel Meade-trained Cocohulababy, who is hooded for the first-time, is the most recent winner in the line-up, having scored over the distance at Dundalk 16 days ago. while Mick Channon's Apple Anni is running over the course for the second time. She finished ninth behind Powersville over six furlongs three weeks ago.

He missed one piece of work due to a cough but he seems in good form and has scoped clean. We decided to let him take his chance as there is a lot of prize - money on offer.

Patrick Prendergast, trainer of Red Persian
He's done quite well and you can put a line through his last run as he stumbled badly and lost his footing. He's in good form but seven furlongs on soft ground is probably as far as he wants to go at this stage of his career.

Brendan Duke, trainer of The Broghie Man
The race has been the plan for some time. Being drawn 16 is far from ideal but he's fit and well and should run a big race. We're trying blinkers to help his concentration.

Michael C Grassick, trainer of Verhoyen
We've kept him busy as he takes his races very well. It looks very competitive but we're hoping to get a share of the prize-money. It will be his first time going seven furlongs and I think he will stay. He's wearing cheekpieces for the first time.

Tom Cooper, trainer of Lisard Lady
She should have learned a lot from her debut win at Down Royal and soft ground - she worked well on it during the week - will be a huge help.

Tom Mullins, trainer of Powersville
The big question is whether she will get the trip. She's in very good form and is a course winner, so we're hoping the trip won't be a problem.

Dermot Weld, trainer of Yulong Gold Fairy
She's a nice filly who battled well to win at Galway and while that was on summer soft ground, I wouldn't want to see the ground getting too testing for her.
