Piggott aims for glory in Corinthian Challenge Charity Race
Tracy Piggott, daughter of the legendary Lester Piggott, is no stranger to big racedays at the Curragh as a member of RTE Television's racing team. But she will have a more active involvement today when she rides Rock The World for Jessica Harrington in the Corinthian Challenge Charity Race.
The mile and a half contest which brings down the curtain at 5.55pm is the middle leg of a three-race series that raises funds for Ireland's injured jockeys.
Piggott said yesterday: "It's hard to believe but it's 28 years since I rode my winner, Husaam, trained by Kevin Prendergast, in a lady riders' race at Leopardstown. I rode in another race not too long after that but haven't ridden in a race since.
