One trainer, one jockey, one horse and one race to watch on Thursday
Trainer
Willie Mullins won last year's Grade 2 Clonmel Oil Chase (3.00) with Douvan and will send out the top two in the betting on Thursday, with Cilaos Emery, a Grade 2 winner over fences, and Bachasson.
The trainer has a typically strong hand at the meeting, including Power Of Pause, who makes his debut over obstacles in the division two of the maiden hurdle (1.15), won last year by Graded third Vis Ta Loi.
Mullins also runs classy mare Cabaret Queen, winner of the Kerry National on her last start, in the 2m4f Listed Mares Chase (2.25), a contest Ireland's champion trainer has won six times in the last decade.
Jockey
Harry Cobden has hardly put a foot wrong this season and hit the 50-winner mark with a double at Huntingdon on Tuesday.
The jockey will once again be provided with plenty of ammunition by his boss Paul Nicholls at Taunton, where he has three decent rides.
Chief among them is the JP McManus-owned Tomorrow Mystery, who will be likely an odds-on favourite for the Invest Southwest Handicap Hurdle (2.05) after winning well at Newbury last time.
Cobden also rides Atholl Street (1.30) and Force Ten (3.15) on the Taunton card.
Horse
Cilaos Emery showcased his versatility when fourth to Epatante in the Champion Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival and it will be interesting to see him over fences for the first time since February.
The nine-year-old, who has won three of his four chase starts, fell at the first in the Grade 1 Dublin Chase, won by Chacun Pour Soi. He was then switched to hurdles, winning a Grade 3 before the festival.
Cilaos Emery is already a Grade 2 winner over fences and is being pitched back in at the deep end as he resumes his chasing career in a race won by greats such as Douvan and Kemboy in recent seasons.
Race
The Listed T.A. Morris Memorial Irish EBF Mares Chase (2.25) at Clonmel was won last year by the Gordon Elliott-trained Shattered Love, who finished sixth in the Ryanair Chase the following March.
The nine-year-old is back for more in a small-but-select field of five, which will include 2019 Grand National second Magic Of Light and Cabaret Queen, a narrow winner of the Kerry National in September.
