One trainer

There are few races Jessica Harrington has not yet won, on the Flat or over jumps, but the Juddmonte Irish Oaks (7.15) is one of them.

She has a great chance to record her first success with Cayenne Pepper, who is a general 2-1 favourite on her return to the Curragh after finishing second to Magical in the Group 1 Pretty Polly Stakes.

Harrington will be represented by four runners on the card, including Lucky Vega, who takes his chance in the Group 2 Gain Railway Stakes (6.45), having won on his debut at Naas last month.

One jockey

Danny Tudhope was the top jockey at York last season with nine winners and he has seven rides on Saturday, including Eagles By Day in the Group 3 John Smith's Silver Cup Stakes (1.55).

He also partners Tinandali in the John Smith's Cup (2.30) and Moss Gill, who was sixth in the Palace House Stakes last month, in the Listed John Smith's City Walls Stakes (3.05) over the minimum trip.

One horse

The Tin Man is set to make his 28th start for trainer James Fanshawe in the Group 3 bet365 Hackwood Stakes (4.00) at Newbury.

He won the 2017 Diamond Jubilee Stakes at Royal Ascot but was denied a second victory in the Group 1, a race he has contested five times, when finishing seventh under Oisin Murphy last month.

The eight-year-old was a beaten 6-4 favourite in this race last season when he finished five and a half lengths behind Waldpfad.

One race

The John Smith's Cup at York is always a fascinating punting puzzle, with the shortest-priced winner in the last five years scoring at 8-1.

That was Ballet Concerto for Sir Michael Stoute, who has another strong chance this season with last-time-out winner Solid Stone, who is vying for favouritism with the Ed Walker-trained Caradoc.
