One trainer, one jockey, one horse and one race to watch at Ascot on Thursday
Trainer
It could be another big day for Andrew Balding, who won the Queen's Vase on Wednesday with Dashing Willoughby and has a great chance in the Hampton Court Stakes (3.05) with Dee Stakes third Fox Chairman.
The Chester form has been boosted by Circus Maximus, who followed up his Dee victory by winning the Group 1 St James's Palace Stakes on Tuesday.
Balding also runs Hero Hero in the Britannia (5.00) and sends out two in the King George V (5.35), Fox Premier and Good Birthday.
Jockey
Ryan Moore has a glittering book of rides again, including likely favourites Cape Of Good Hope in the Hampton Court, Fleeting in the Ribblesdale and Constantinople in the King George V.
He will also partner Flag Of Honour, who has finished second in his last three starts, in the Gold Cup as he bids for a third win in the race.
Horse
Stradivarius, the undisputed king of the staying division last season, bids to land back-to-back Gold Cups after extending his winning streak to six in the Yorkshire Cup last month.
The son of Sea The Stars had to dig deep in last year's Gold Cup and was pushed all the way before finishing three-quarters of a length in front of the French-trained Vazirabad.
Stradivarius faces an even tougher task this year with Melbourne Cup winner Cross Counter and Dee Ex Bee among his ten rivals.
Race
Aidan O'Brien won last year's Ribblesdale Stakes (3.40) with Magic Wand and has a great chance of following up in the Group 2 with Fleeting, who finished third in the Oaks at Epsom.
There is a competitive field with Queen Power, who won at Newbury last time, and Oaks sixth Frankellina prominent in the market.
