One key runner from each of the nine races live on ITV4 this Tuesday

Concertista
1.15 Leopardstown
Advent Insurance Irish EBF Mares' Hurdle (Grade 3), 2m4f

Concertista took a while to get her head in front until her crowning glory at the Cheltenham Festival in March and she looks well set to take her unbeaten run to three in this competitive mares' contest.

The Simon Munir and Isaac Souede-owned six-year-old shed her maiden tag in terrific style with a 12-length romp in the Mares' Novices' Hurdle and showed her well-being remains intact when a cosy winner of a Grade 2 contest at Fairyhouse on her return earlier this month.

While she contends with a 2lb penalty in this Grade 3 heat, she looks to have the measure of her field and could stake her claims for the Mares' Hurdle at the festival. She could even turn into a Champion Hurdle dark horse.

Dickie Diver
1.30 Newbury
MansionBet's Bet 10 Get 20 Novices' Limited Handicap Chase, 2m6½f

Nicky Henderson announced that his yard will go into a short lockdown after his runners at Newbury and Doncaster on Tuesday following some high-profile defeats over the festive period, but the team behind Epatante have a chance to gain some welcome compensation in this contest.

Jockey Aidan Coleman, Henderson and owner JP McManus suffered a shock defeat with their Champion Hurdle winner in the Christmas Hurdle on Boxing Day and will be represented here by the promising Dickie Diver, who has not been seen since finishing fourth in the 2019 Albert Bartlett Novices' Hurdle behind Minella Indo.

Monkfish
1.50 Leopardstown
Neville Hotels Novice Chase (Grade 1), 3m

One of the stars of the day is Monkfish, who bids to continue his perfect chasing career and add to Paul Townend and Willie Mullins' fortunes over the festive period.

Townend has had six winners since Boxing Day and Mullins 12. The potent combination will be disappointed if their Albert Bartlett Novices' Hurdle winner cannot claim Grade 1 glory in this 3m contest, potentially stamping his claims as the leading staying novice chaser in Britain and Ireland.

However, it will not be straightforward with the presence of Latest Exhibition, who was a neck behind Monkfish at Cheltenham and reopposes here.

Calva D'Auge
2.05 Newbury
MansionBet's Watch And Bet Handicap Hurdle, 2m4½f

Paul Nicholls is close to completing a memorable century of winners this season before the new year and he could edge nearer to that landmark target with this unexposed handicapper.

The five-year-old fell short of the top level in novice company last term but bounced back to his best when an authoritative winner at Taunton last time under Angus Cheleda.

The 5lb amateur, who is enjoying a career-best season, gets a valuable opportunity to showcase his talents in front of the terrestrial TV cameras.

Tuesday's cards

Abacadabras
2.25 Leopardstown
Matheson Hurdle (Grade 1), 2m

A real standout Champion Hurdle contender could come out of this cracking contest and Gordon Elliott will be hoping it will be Abacadabras, who got the verdict in a closely fought Morgiana Hurdle at Punchestown in November.

Beaten a head by Shishkin in the Supreme Novices' Hurdle in March, the six-year-old was victorious by a neck over the reopposing Saint Roi at Punchestown and despite coming out on top, remains the second-favourite for this Grade 1 behind that unexposed rival.

It will be interesting to see if Abacadabras can uphold that form and remain the chief threat to Epatante's crown at Cheltenham in March.

Aspire Tower, Sharjah and the classy-yet-fragile Saldier are other stars among his opponents.

Redford Road
2.40 Newbury
MansionBet's Best Odds Guaranteed Mandarin Handicap Chase, 3m2f

Grade 2-winning hurdler Redford Road has yet to live up to expectations since switching to fences but may have the chance to change his fortunes now stepping into handicap company.

The six-year-old has been beaten by a combined 51 lengths over fences in three starts but the form of his latest defeat was boosted when the winner, Royal Pagaille, bolted up in a competitive handicap chase at Kempton two days ago.

While he needs to brush up on his jumping, he is unexposed venturing into this company and could improve.

Gabbys Cross
3.00 Leopardstown
Irish Stallion Farms EBF Novice Handicap Hurdle, 2m4f

Yesterday was a day of mixed fortunes for Rachael Blackmore and Henry de Bromhead at Leopardstown and they team up once again for the leading hope in this contest in Gabbys Cross.

While Blackmore fell in the Savills Chase aboard Minella Indo, De Bromhead scored with his second-string A Plus Tard.

The trainer-rider combination team up with this improving novice, who looks well-placed to defy the 6lb rise in the weights he received for a narrow victory at Punchestown earlier this month.

Bravemansgame
3.15 Newbury
MansionBet Challow Novices' Hurdle (Grade 1), 2m4½f

This year's Challow looks another up-to-scratch running with five of the six runners priced up at single figures in the market.

Bravemansgame, who is charting the Denman route to stardom for his trainer Paul Nicholls, leads the betting.

He was a ready winner of a novice hurdle that the great chaser took previously at the Ladbrokes Trophy meeting and continues to follow in his footsteps in this Grade 1, which has been won by the likes of Thyme Hill, Champ and Finian's Rainbow in the past.

However, he will not have it all his own way and his main rival looks to be Grade 2 winner Star Gate, who represents the in-form duo of Adam Wedge and Evan Williams, while The Glancing Queen and Does He Know have also scored at that level too.

The race should have significant ramifications for Cheltenham and do not be surprised if a top-class prospect emerges from this.

King D'Argent
3.45 Newbury
MansionBet's Faller Insurance Handicap Chase, 2m½f

Dan and Harry Skelton have had a festive period they will not forget and the brothers have a live chance to add to their riches with King D'Argent.

The five-year-old has registered some classy performances and made a perfect start to his chasing career when a three-length winner at Warwick earlier this month.

He is pitched into open handicap company on only his second start over fences and bids to take advantage of what looks to be a lenient handicap mark.
