Al Salt

Unibet You're On Handicap

This contest tends to favour unexposed and progressive three-year-olds and William Haggas' representative Al Salt certainly fits that criteria having won his last two starts.

Watch Al Salt win at Newcastle

He comes here having struck at Newcastle and Wolverhampton and is open to plenty of improvement from a mark of 88. This Goodwood test is a change from the all-weather but he should thrive in this competitive handicap.

2.15 Goodwood
Qatar Richmond Stakes

Yazaman has progressed with every start this season and looks for his breakthrough at Group level in what appears to be a warm Richmond Stakes.

Another for the Haggas team, the son of Kodiac finished second behind Tactical at Royal Ascot and in the July Stakes at Newmarket and sets the standard in this Group 2 event.

Khalifa Sat
2.45 Goodwood
John Pearce Racing Gordon Stakes

This year's Gordon Stakes is the most fascinating in recent seasons as we assess the strength of this year's Derby, with plenty of runners who finished behind Serpentine featuring at Goodwood.

Second at Epsom was the Andrew Balding-trained Khalifa Sat, who was the only one to chase the front-running winner and, under Tom Marquand, stayed on to outrun his 50-1 odds.

Watch Khalifa Sat win the Cocked Hat Stakes

He returns to Goodwood, the scene of his win in the Cocked Hat Stakes, and it will be interesting to see whether he can maintain his superiority over English King and Mogul.

Deirdre
3.15 Goodwood
Qatar Nassau Stakes

Japanese superstar Deirdre made history with her victory in the Nassau Stakes a year ago and looks to fly her country's flag again in a quality renewal of the Group 1.

She powered home late to beat Mehdaayih in this race and looked to have retained her class with a solid comeback effort behind Ghaiyyath and Enable in the Eclipse at Sandown earlier this month.

Watch Deirdre land the 2019 Nassau Stakes

Mitsuru Hashida's ace mare will need to bring her A-game taking on Classic winner Fancy Blue and Nazeef, who has won her last six races.

3.45 Goodwood
Gusbourne Nursery Handicap

The Richard Hannon stable took this nursery contest with subsequent 1,000 Guineas winner Billesdon Brook in 2017 and will be hoping Running Back can repeat that achievement.

Qatar Racing's two-year-old, a son of Muhaarar, settled for second behind the smart Qaader at Newbury before filling the same position at Kempton last time, beaten just a head.

Off a mark of 81, and with champion jockey Oisin Murphy in the saddle, he looks primed for a big run.
