One key runner from each of the eight races on ITV4 this Saturday
Brando
1.30 Doncaster
Betfair Wentworth Stakes (Listed) 6f
If any horse deserves to end the Flat turf season with a win it is veteran sprinter Brando. The eight-year-old has not got his head in front since last June, but has run several excellent races in defeat, not least when failing by a nose to bag the Group 1 Champions Sprint at Ascot last time when sent off at 80-1.
Cill Anna
1.50 Wincanton
Richard Barber Memorial Mares' Handicap Hurdle 2m5½f
A course-and-distance winner last season, Cill Anna emerged as a promising mare with three wins from four starts over hurdles. She faces her stiffest task to date, but remains open to plenty of further improvement.
2.05 Doncaster
Betfair Exchange British EBF Gillies Fillies' Stakes (Listed) 1m2f
This filly has done nothing but improve this year, rising from a mark of 89 to 101, and she has won three of her last four starts. Last time out she gained valuable black type in the Listed James Seymour Stakes and now attempts to enhance her page further.
Grand Sancy
2.25 Wincanton
"Rising Stars" Novices' Chase (Grade 2) 2m4f
Only three line up for this race, which has been won by the likes of Silviniaco Conti, Frodon and Reserve Tank in recent seasons. Grand Sancy has the most experience of the trio, and appeared to benefit from a wind operation when dotting up by 13 lengths at Chepstow on his seasonal reappearance.
Call Me Lord
2.40 Aintree
williamhill.com Best Odds Guaranteed Hurdle 2m4f
Owners Simon Munir and Isaac Souede have won this race for the last two seasons with Top Notch and Wholestone, and Call Me Lord bids to give them more success. The seven-year-old has been a solid performer at higher levels and steps back up in trip having contested the Champion Hurdle when last seen.
Sceau Royal
3.00 Wincanton
Unibet Elite Hurdle (Grade 2) 1m7½f
Already successful in the Welsh Champion Hurdle at Ffos Las this season, Sceau Royal won the Elite Hurdle in 2016 and bids to join Celestial Halo (2009, 2011) as the only other two-time winner of the race.
Euchen Glen
3.15 Doncaster
Betfair November Handicap 1m4f
A one-time Melbourne Cup hope, Euchen Glen returned to action this summer after nearly two years off through injury. He has come alive in the autumn, winning three of his last four, including a brace of Group 3s at York and Newbury and has thrived on slow ground.
Present Man
3.35 Wincanton
Badger Beers Silver Trophy Handicap Chase (Listed) 3m1f
A Wincanton regular, Present Man loves the track with four wins from 11 starts, and notably twice in this race in 2017 and 2018. He has top weight this time, but is partnered again by Bryony Frost, who was aboard for his previous two Badger Beers victories.
