One horse to note in each of ITV's nine races from Ascot and York
Twaasol
1.50 Ascot
Pat Eddery Stakes (Listed), 7f
This two-year-old was a surprise winner at Ascot on debut but the market did not miss him next time, when he romped home as the 9-4 joint-favourite in the Woodcote at Epsom.
The final winning margin of a length and half looked to belie the son of Adaay's dominance on Derby day, and victory here would confirm him as candidate for top-class juvenile honours later this season.
Golden Hind
2.05 York
Skybet Fillies' Handicap, 1m2f
After finishing second on her sole start last season, Golden Hind finished in the silver medal position again when pushing Deep Snow all the way in a Ripon maiden earlier this month.
An opening mark of 74 could prove generous for this daughter of Golden Horn, who is open to far more improvement than her more exposed rivals.
2.25 Ascot
International Stakes (Heritage Handicap), 7f
Roger Varian could offer no explanation after Mutamaasik bombed out of the Bunbury Cup at Newmarket last time, following an excellent outing to finish third in the Buckingham Palace at Royal Ascot.
If you put a line through that display, the son of Dubawi still looks a promising prospect in handicaps and could bounce back to form returning to a course he ran so well over last month.
Lord Glitters
2.40 York
Sky Bet York Stakes (Group 2), 1m2f
While others may possess more alluring form of late, Lord Glitters will draw attention for more powerful reasons ahead of this Group 2.
The veteran seven-year-old, winner of last season's Queen Anne at Royal Ascot, was owned by the late Geoff Turnbull, who passed away earlier in the week.
Tsar
3.00 Ascot
Betfred Handicap, 1m
This beautifully bred son of Kingman has won two of his four career starts, including when easing to a maiden handicap success off a mark of 88 at Yarmouth earlier this month.
Up 6lb in the weights, connections clearly feel there is scope for more improvement in handicaps, and Tsar looks the pick of the field in this intriguing clash of progressive three-year-olds.
Orbaan
3.15 York
Sky Bet Handicap, 1m
This five-year-old had good form when trained by Andre Fabre, winning at Listed level before finishing just under two lengths behind the classy Barney Roy at Longchamp on his final start in France.
Now with David O'Meara, Orbaan left a disappointing debut run behind him when keeping on strongly to win a course-and-distance handicap at 25-1 last time.
Sovereign
3.35 Ascot
King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Qipqo Stakes (Group 1), 1m4f
All eyes will be on Enable as she goes for her third King George, but last season's Irish Derby winner should be underestimated at your peril.
He was entitled to need the run on his first start for 364 days at the Curragh last time and, with a less-exposed profile than his rivals, could be primed for a big performance.
The tactical possibility of Sovereign making the running, as he did in the Irish Derby, adds another intriguing element to this three-runner feature following the late defection of Anthony Van Dyck on Friday.
Queen Of Kalahari
3.50 York
Sky Bet Handicap, 6f
This open-looking handicap could go to any number of improving types, but it will be fascinating to see how this five-year-old does on her first start on turf in just under a year.
Trained by Les Eyre, this mare has racked up incredible form on the all-weather in the interim, winning five of her six starts, and she will surely be challenging here if handling the transition back to grass.
Media Storm
4.10 Ascot
Betfred.com Handicap, 1m4f
An unexposed three-year-old trained by David Simcock, Media Storm looks likely to improve plenty from his first start of the season and only second start of his career at Kempton 24 days ago.
The Night Of Thunder colt is getting weight from many of his older rivals, and an opening mark of 82 could grossly underestimate him.
