Oli Bell, Louis Steward and James Knight give their views on a good day's racing
Racing Post betting experts Keith Melrose and Graeme Rodway complete the line-up
Is there another future star in this year's Solario Stakes?
Oli Bell, ITV Racing presenter I don’t think it’s quite as good a renewal as in the last two years – Too Darn Hot’s performance, in particular, would be hard to match. My instinct tells me that if there is a potential star in the race he will need to take a big step forward on what he’s shown so far. He could make me look foolish, but I’m prepared to give Visinari another chance – his debut run was exceptional and I still believe in this horse.
James Knight, Coral head of racing Certainly could be. I thought it was a huge effort from Positive in the Vintage Stakes, given it was only his second start, and if he’s in similar form it will take a good horse to beat him. That said, the vibe around Al Suhail has always been strong and Visinari put up a fantastic debut effort but hasn’t quite progressed from that, so we have the potential for a Group 1 horse to emerge from this contest.
Keith Melrose, betting editor We’d be truly spoiled this season if there were another mid-120s juvenile out there. Positive might not be quite at that level, but I’d be amazed if he doesn’t end the season as a Group-race winner and he sets a really high standard – he beat the others handsomely in the Vintage. A muddling race may not suit, but there looks to be ample speed in there that his backers need not worry.
