Who do you fancy for the rescheduled Welsh National?

Oli Bell, ITV RacingLord Du Mesnil looks tailor-made for the race as a heavy-ground lover who races prominently. Four of the first five home last year were up there the whole way and this horse has stamina assured. I respect the favourite Secret Reprieve but Lord Du Mesnil offers some value.

Richard Birch, Racing Post tipster Recent history suggests a Cheltenham Gold Cup-type performance is needed to hump a big weight, so I’ll focus on the low-weighted Evan Williams-trained pair, Secret Reprieve and Prime Venture. The former is officially 8lb well in, defends an unbeaten record (2-2) at Chepstow, and promises to stay. Last year’s fourth Prime Venture ought to reward each-way support.
