Money comes for Kemboy: betting moves and ground latest for day one of Aintree

The ground at Aintree for the first day of the Randox Health Grand National meeting is officially described as good to soft on the Mildmay course and good to soft, soft in places on the canal side on the Grand National course.

Clerk of the course Andrew Tulloch said: "It will probably ride on the easy side. There was no rain overnight and the forecast is for showers later."

The showers are predicted to arrive at Aintree at around midday, with the rain expected to remain somewhat constant throughout the afternoon.

In the Betway Bowl (2.50), money has come for Kemboy, making the Willie Mullins-trained seven-year-old, who unseated David Mullins at the first fence in the Gold Cup, the general 2-1 favourite (from 3-1) from 11-4 shot Clan Des Obeaux.

The Joseph O'Brien-trained Band Of Outlaws has continued to attract strong support, with firms going as short 7-4 (from 15-8) for him to follow up his Fred Winter success in the Doom Bar Anniversary Juvenile Hurdle (2.40).

Buveur D'Air remains solid at the head of the market for the £250,000 Aintree Hurdle (3.25), with the two-time Champion Hurdle a general 10-11 shot to reclaim the title he won in 2017.

In the bumper (5.15) Minella Melody, trained by Henry de Bromhead, is now as short as 5-2 favourite (from 3-1) to add to tally of two career victories.
