It will be a case of 'you definitely won't' for Maybe I Wont after his farewell appearance at Cartmel this afternoon.

The 11-year-old is set to be retired following the 100th start of his long and varied career in the 2m6f handicap hurdle for local trainer Jimmy Moffatt.

Such longevity might not have been guessed at when he ran no fewer than 19 times as a two-year-old for Simon Dow and then Robert Stronge, curiously finishing five places behind a Richard Hannon snr runner called Maybe I Will on his Salisbury debut in 2007.
