Ger Lyons and Colin Keane stole the stole on RTE last Friday night thanks to Siskin's sizzling win in the Irish 2,000 Guineas and they will be hoping to do likewise seven days later as the popular pair team up with likely favourite Lemista.

The RTE2 cameras are back at the picturesque County Kilkenny track for the first time since Thyestes Chase day back in January, and the feature race is quite a competitive affair with three-quarters of the field rated 90 or higher.

Lemista is sure to be popular with punters. Not only is she the highest-rated runner in the race with a mark of 101, but she has had the benefit of a run this season.

It was a winning return too, as she stormed home to land a Group 3 at Naas on the opening day of the Flat turf season in Ireland in March. The recent rain will help and Lyons and Keane combined to win the race last year with Who's Steph.

Jessica Harrington was successful in this Listed event in 2016 when Bocca Baciata landed the spoils and she is represented by Camphor this time.

The consistent four-year-old went down a dead end at Leopardstown on her return to action five days ago and would surely have finished closer with a clearer run. He trainer thinks so too.

Harrington said: "Leopardstown was an absolute nightmare. Nothing went right for her. She's been in flying form since then and I've been thrilled with her. The trip is the one concern I would have as it might be a bit short for her, but I'm hoping for a big run."

Elfin Queen represents Aidan O'Brien and she looked a reformed character at Naas when running away with a mile maiden under Seamie Heffernan. The way she hit the line there suggests this longer trip will pose no problems and we all know the impression the three-year-old fillies from Ballydoyle have created this season. They are a seriously talented bunch.

Aidan's eldest son Joseph is doubly represented with Snapraeceps and Crotchet.

Snapraeceps would appear to tick more boxes as she is a course winner, who likes an easy surface and is rated 100, just 1lb lower than Lemista.

O'Brien said of his pair: "Snapraeceps has some form with cut in the ground, and it looks like it will be on the easy side, so that will suit. She won her maiden at Gowran too, so that's a plus, and she's in good form. The ground would be a bit of an issue for Crotchet, but we would love to get some more black type with her. She got some last year and that will be the aim for this season too."
