Charlie Longsdon's golden oldies Pete The Feat and Loose Chips meet again having finished first and third in the veterans final in January.

The evergreen Pete The Feat defeated Theatrical Star and his stablemate over course and distance in the climax to the increasingly popular series, in which he could take his chance later this season as a 14-year-old.

What they say

Nigel Twiston-Davies, trainer of Double Ross
He ran very well at Chepstow last month. They took him on and he probably did a bit too much early on hence he didn't quite get home. He should be in sparkling form for this.

Charlie Longsdon, trainer of Loose Chips and Pete The Feat
These two have been proper stalwarts of the series having won a qualifier or final at Sandown before. They are perfect examples of what the veterans series does. Loose Chips will have improved a lot from his first run and he loves it round Sandown. He runs off a very high mark but I think he could still be competitive. Pete The Feat will improve for the run. He's done loads of work and, even though he is almost 14, he's as enthusiastic as ever. The final is his main target.

Venetia Williams, trainer of Houblon Des Obeaux
He's been running over long trips and coming back to a shorter distance I hope rain will continue to fall to make it a bit more testing. He's in good order and this is a nice starting point for him.

Fergal O'Brien, trainer of Creevytennant
Lily [Pinchin] gets on very well with him. He has to go right-handed. He ran okay in this a couple of years ago. It's all or nothing with him so he'll go to the front and try to stay there as long as he can.

Gary Moore, trainer of Vino Griego
He won this race the last time he ran in 2015 but has been off with a tendon injury. He’s as fit as I can get him at home and has a great record at Sandown.
