Listen Dear bids to make the headlines for the right reasons at Clonmel

The Willie Mullins-trained Listen Dear, who has been making headlines for all the wrong reasons in recent weeks, will make her debut for new owners Syndicates.Racing after a much talked about transfer from the banned Supreme Racing Club.

Listen Dear, winner of nine races, fetched £38,000 at a horses-in-training sale at Goffs last month and Mullins is hoping that the nine-year-old can make an immediate impact for her new connections.

Mullins, who has won six of the last nine runnings of this race, said: “Listen Dear won well last time, which was great to see, and hopefully she will bring a similar level of form to the table here.”

Gordon Elliott is doubly represented with former JLT Novices' Chase winner Shattered Love, who finished fifth on her reappearance in a Grade 2 at Gowran Park, and Tintangle, a recent winner at the track.

Both mares are owned by Gigginstown House Stud, whose racing manager Eddie O’Leary said: “Hopefully Gowran will have knocked the edge off Shattered Love and we think she can improve off it. All this rain shouldn't bother her in the slightest.”

He added: “Tintangle needs a lead. It just didn't suit her the last day as she had to make all the running herself. She's a better mare when she gets a lead, so hopefully she can show that here.”

The five-runner field is completed by the Henry de Bromhead-trained Kupatana and Jimmy Mangan’s Ballybrowney Walk.
