Four Flat meetings in Britain and one jumps card from Ireland make up the day’s action, with a bumper 38 races to get stuck into.

Leicester puts on some attractive prize-money, with £25,000 apiece on offer in the TBA Small Breeders Conditions Stakes (2.55) and Squirrel Handicap (3.55).

A quality field will line up for the latter, including last month’s Newbury winner Blakeney Point, who beat Saturday's Ascot Group 3 victor Danehill Kodiac on that occasion, and the unexposed Night Of Glory.

Catterick, Brighton and Newcastle complete the schedule in Britain, while in Ireland Poli Roi makes his eagerly awaited debut over hurdles in the opening 2m3f maiden (2.25) on Galway’s card.

What to read

Frankie Dettori and our very own Alastair Down reflect on the news that brilliant Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe winner Enable will stay in training next season, with a tilt at winning a second Arc top of her agenda.

The Tizzards have whet the appetite further, announcing that Grade 1-winning novice hurdler Finian's Oscar could make his debut over fences at Chepstow this weekend.

We also have all the latest news before Saturday's Future Champions meeting at Newmarket, with Emaraaty set to take his chance in the Group 1 Darley Dewhurst Stakes.

What to watch

Maddy Playle is joined Tom Segal, Mark Scully and Paddy Power's Paul Binfield as they discuss a possible clash between Enable and Winx, as well as previewing the weekend action.

The best of Racing Post Sport

"They were not rubbish but the fans' frustration probably stems from yet another poor away result as their team have secured just one triumph in six road trips this season"

After Saturday's defeat at Colchester, Mansfield Town are this week's team in focus.

Final thought

How many miles do you think Silvestre de Sousa covers in a season? The champion jockey elect was in action in the 8.25 at Kempton last night, yet will leave his home in Newmarket this morning for ten rides split evenly between Catterick and Newcastle.

He has had the title in the bag for weeks but there is no chance he is going to sacrifice a possible winner to save on the diesel. If only we all had his work ethic, the country's productivity would be through the roof.
