Sangarius, who was as short as 13-8 for the Listed Betway Paradise Stakes at Newmarket, has been withdrawn due to the going, which was recorded as good to firm on Friday morning.

The four-year-old was set to make his first appearance since Royal Ascot in June, when he won the Group 3 Hampton Court Stakes, but he has been withdrawn by trainer Sir Michael Stoute.

Sangarius is still declared for the Group 3 Betway Brigadier Gerard Stakes (2.40) at Haydock on Sunday and he is a general 3-1 shot.

There is a bumper card at Newmarket, kicking off with a fillies' maiden (1.15) in which Godolphin's Pure Beauty, a four-year-old making a belated debut, has been very well backed this morning.

The highlight is the Group 1 Hurworth Bloodstock Coronation Cup Stakes (3.35), with Derby winner Anthony Van Dyck taking on Stradivarius and Ghaiyyath, who has attracted strong support.

Lingfield hosts a nine-race card and the going is standard to slow on the all-weather. The Oaks and Derby Trials (2.40 and 3.15) will be run on the turf track, which is good to firm, firm in places (watered).

Racing returns to ITV4 on Friday with coverage of seven races from action-packed cards at Lingfield and Newmarket live from 1.30pm.
