The Tattersalls Book 1 and 2 sales races may have been discontinued at Newmarket this year, but the contest for Book 3 and 4 graduates that is the October Auction Stakes (4.35) is still going strong, with 29 set to line up.

One of the leading locals is Keyser Soze, who has fair claims of giving up-and-coming trainer Richard Spencer his biggest payday in the £150,000 event after a close fifth in a similar contest at Doncaster last time.
