Kelly eyeing second Grade 1 victory with Kempton ace

Tea For Two wrote his place in the record books when giving Lizzie Kelly a Grade 1 win on this card last year. Their victory in the novice chase was a first at the highest level for a female jockey in Britain and now Kelly is focused on trying to repeat the feat.

Tea For Two carries an unbeaten record at Kempton into the race, having also won the competitive Lanzarote Hurdle at the track after a novice hurdle win.

Kelly said: "He looks well and feels well and Susie Young, who rides him a lot in his work, feels he's in top form as well."

Bookmakers have written off Tea For Two at 16-1, with only Silviniaco Conti a bigger price, but Kelly can see a turnaround in form with one of her shorter-priced rivals Josses Hill, who was six lengths too good for Tea For Two in the Peterborough Chase at Huntingdon.

"Hopefully we have a little edge over Josses Hill even though he beat us last time," she said. "Josses Hill had the perfect race for him there but this time everything suits Tea For Two, with the longer trip and a course he loves.

"We're going there confident he'll run a good race but I don't know where that will put us at the finish.

"I have been having a bit of banter with Paddy Brennan and Tom Scudamore about the race."

Kelly will be achieving one of her holy trinity of races she wants to compete in as she added: "It will be nice to tick off riding in the King George as there are three races I have always wanted to ride in, with the others being the Grand National and Gold Cup."

Pros: Unbeaten in three visits to Kempton and has won at Grade 1 level

Cons: Beaten six lengths by third favourite Josses Hill in the Peterborough and has plenty to find on official figures with the Tizzard pair
