The Peterborough Chase has been reinvented as much as rescheduled this year. The move from Huntingdon to Cheltenham is probably more marked than losing Forest Bihan, Al Dancer and Nuts Well from the original field and gaining Clondaw Castle and Kalashnikov.
This is the fourth time in 11 years Huntingdon has suffered the misfortune of losing its biggest race of the year. On the previous three occasions, the race's temporary home has had more in common with its regular one. Taunton (2017) and Kempton (2012) are both right-handed and flat, while Newbury (2010) at least has the latter characteristic.
