Market Movers

1.50 Newmarket
The Trader 17-2 (from 10) with Paddy Power

Consistency has been the hallmark of this three-year-old's performances in 2019, with solid displays at Chelmsford and Newbury preceding a good second behind the progressive Le Don De Vie in a hot handicap at Epsom last time.

Trainer Mark Johnston could hardly be in better form, as advertised by his runner's good performances on day one of the meeting, and it would be no surprise for this son of Mastercraftsman to put up a big display.

3.00 Newmarket
Desert Wind 11-1 (from 14) with Paddy Power

Punters are hanging there hats on two promising 2019 all-weather displays from this four-year-old, who is still yet to win on turf.

He beat only one home at Epsom in April but was a decisive winner of a 1m4f Kempton handicap off mark of 93 last time and should be suited by the additional two furlongs he will face this afternoon.

A 5lb rise and a lack of turf form are the question marks but that has not stopped punters latching on this morning.

4.45 Newmarket
Medieval9-1 (from 12)

Course form is always worth noting on the July course and this Paul Cole-trained five-year-old has registered figures reading 244 on his last three starts at the track.

The 79-rated son of Kodiac has not won since 2017 but has been at the very least consistent this season and now sits 7lb below his last winning mark.

Traffic Update

There was plenty of traffic in and around the Newmarket area yesterday but this morning the roads are fine. However, visitors are advised to avoid Newmarket high street, especially as we move closer to racetime.
