John Gosden has two chances of registering a record-breaking eighth victory in the Lancashire Oaks as he runs the talented Enbihaar and Highgarden.
Although beaten last time when sent off the 6-4 favourite, Enbihaar, who lead for much of the 1m6f trip that day, faces a rematch with her York conqueror Dramatic Queen. Before that defeat she overcame Klassique, who also reopposes, at Goodwood.
The daughter of Redoute's Choice is still relatively unexposed and is having just her sixth start, while Highgarden, whose career highlight came when winning a Group 3 at Newmarket last September, is fitted with cheekpieces for the first time on her ninth outing.
Gosden said: "These fillies all match up pretty well and we hope the ground isn't too quick for them. Enbihaar did everything right at York and may be better back at a mile and a half.
"There is not a lot to choose between her and Highgarden, who is entitled to have come on for her comeback run at Chelmsford. We've had a lot of luck in the race and it's a nice contest for these four-year-olds."
In contrast to Gosden, William Haggas has yet to win the Lancashire Oaks. However, he has two chances of his own with last-time winners Dramatic Queen and Klassique.
Dramatic Queen has a very similar profile to Enbihaar and looks to be an improving filly, while Klassique returns to the scene of her latest victory in the Group 3 Pinnacle Stakes, which was gained on heavy ground.
Haggas said: "It's an interesting race with both fillies stepping up to a Group 2 after winning a Group 3 last time. Dramatic Queen will like the ground but she may well want a bit further than the mile and a half. Klassique, on the other hand, wants slow ground so we'll see how she handles this. Both fillies go there in great nick."
Andrew Balding and David Probert combined to win this race with 11-4 shot Horseplay a year ago and are back for more with Shailene, who was well placed to win a Listed race in Italy last time.
Balding said: "She won well in Italy last time and the form of her Nottingham second has obviously worked out well. She's an outsider but seems in great form and seems to be thriving with her racing at the moment."
The versatile Nyaleti, who was runner-up in a Group 3 last time, makes up the sextet for trainer Mark Johnston.
