ITV Racing tips: one key runner from each of the six races on ITV4 on Saturday
1.50 Ascot
Howden Handicap Chase, 2m3f
A tricky day on ITV4 for punters as 11 runners go to post for this handicap chase. Owner JP McManus is well represented with Wetherby winner Palmers Hill and course-and-distance winner Sully D'Oc AA. Guy and Diego Du Charmil both ran respectively here last month, while Financier remains lightly raced for Kerry Lee.
SPOTLIGHT TIP: Knight In Dubai
Well handicapped on his chase wins two years ago; can leave comeback form behind
Virgin Bet Handicap Hurdle, 2m3f
Olly Murphy has been firing in the winners this autumn and Mackelduff has strong claims for him. Up For Parol is back over hurdles after an attempt over fences, but a lot of the market leaders are making their reappearance, including Stellar Magic and Boss Man Fred.
SPOTLIGHT TIP: Minella Charmer
Below par when last seen in February but won here in December 2019 after an absence
Howden Long Walk Hurdle, 3m½f, Grade 1
This is the thrilling highlight of the day with last year's one-two Paisley Park and Thyme Hill both looking to bounce back to their best. The Nicky Henderson-trained pair Champ and On The Blind Side are among the opposition, while Irish raider Ronald Pump and Long Distance Hurdle winner Thomas Darby cannot be readily discounted.
SPOTLIGHT TIP: Champ
Chasing is again on the agenda but he was a Grade 1-winning novice hurdler at this trip
Virgin Bet Tommy Whittle Handicap Chase, 3m1½f
This could be a typical slog on heavy ground for the 16 runners, headlined by Remastered, who was travelling well in the Ladbrokes Trophy when falling in the straight. Plenty of these have form in testing conditions including course winners Calipso Collonges, Buzz De Turcoing, Sam's Adventure and Vintage Clouds.
SPOTLIGHT TIP: Remastered
Going well when falling four out in Ladbrokes Trophy; could well make amends today
Howden Silver Cup Handicap Chase, 3m, Listed
Four of the last five winners have been priced between 16-1 and 33-1 and this might not be much easier. Belami Des Pictons could be popular for the in-form Venetia Williams team, while Grand Sancy, Annsam and Caribean Boy fit into the unexposed bracket. Cloth Cap and past winners Regal Encore (twice) and Valtor add further depth to the field.
SPOTLIGHT TIP: Jerrysback
Has awful recent form figures but he can go well if putting it all together
Betfair Exchange Trophy, 1m7½f, Grade 3
A difficult final contest with Goshen an intriguing handicap debutant for Gary Moore at the top of the weights. West Cork (first), No Ordinary Joe (third) and Tritonic (fifth) ensure the Greatwood Hurdle form is well represented, while there are three more last-time-out winners in the field in Samarrive, Onemorefortheroad and Mack The Man.
SPOTLIGHT TIP: West Cork
Career 1221121; off 631 days before winning handicap debut in the Greatwood at Cheltenham
