ITV Racing tips: one key runner from each of the seven races on ITV on Saturday
1.50 Ascot
Bateaux London Reynoldstown Novices' Chase, Grade 2, 3m
A step up to 3m5f proved too far for Corach Rambler last time at Warwick and he drops down in distance under a first-time tongue-tie to make amends in this Grade 2 race. He takes on Does He Know, who returns to the track fresh from a break after his last race in November.
SPOTLIGHT TIP: J'Ai Froid
Second chase start was a step in the right direction; player on hurdles form last season
William Hill Rendlesham Hurdle, Grade 2, 3m½f
Thomas Darby proved no match for Champ in December's Long Walk Hurdle but returns to Grade 2 company where he was successful in November at Newbury. The Dan Skelton-trained Molly Ollys Wishes, who was a recent winner at Ascot could be the leading challenger.
SPOTLIGHT TIP: Top Ville Ben
Peak efforts have come over fences but worth a second look given ability in that sphere
greatbritishstallionshowcase.co.uk Swinley Chase, 3m
Regal Encore launched a gallant bid for success in the Swinley Chase last year only to be denied by a head, and seeks to go one better on his first start after wind surgery. He will face Ask Me Early, who enjoyed an easy success when the only finisher in December and will face more competition in Saturday's contest that includes Ladbrokes Trophy runner-up Fiddlerontheroof.
SPOTLIGHT TIP: Fiddlerontheroof
Excellent second in the Ladbrokes Trophy at Newbury when last seen; respected
William Hill Grand National Trial Handicap Chase, Grade 3, 3m4f½f
Veteran chaser Blaklion aims for a hat-trick this season under Harry Skelton in this National trial, where he takes on Peter Marsh runner-up Sam Brown. Bristol De Mai, a three-time Grade 1 winner at this course, also lines up for the Twiston-Davies team alongside last year's Welsh National winner Secret Reprieve.
SPOTLIGHT TIP: Bristol De Mai
An 11yo now but showed last month he retains considerable spark and he loves it here
Dingley's Promise Handicap Hurdle, 2m3f½f
Good Risk At All has finished second in all three starts this season and connections will hope to grab an elusive first win over hurdles. He could be denied by Zacony Rebel or Cap Du Mathan, who have already both opened their accounts over hurdles and are sure to feature once more.
SPOTLIGHT TIP: Good Risk At All
Remains well treated on his Listed-winning bumper form; ready for this new trip; respected
Wincanton Matchbook Betting Exchange Kingwell Hurdle, Grade 2, 1m7f
Goshen ran away with this Grade 2 contest in 2021 and showed his preference for a right-handed test with a smooth Listed victory at Sandown two weeks ago. He marks a formidable challenge for his three rivals, headed by Grade 1 winner Adagio.
SPOTLIGHT TIP: Goshen
Won this by 22l in 2021 and was back in fine form at Sandown this month; hard to catch
Betfair Ascot Chase, Grade 1, 2m5f
Joseph O'Brien sends a rare runner to Britain to take on Ascot's feature contest with Fakir D'Oudairies, who will face last year's winner Dashel Drasher. Venetia Williams has enjoyed a rich vein of form this season and could be dangerous once more with Fanion D'Estruval.
SPOTLIGHT TIP: Fanion D'Estruval
Very good second in C&D handicap last time; better than ever; may well improve further
