ITV Racing tips: one key runner from each of the nine races on ITV4 on Sunday
1.20 Leopardstown
Ladbrokes Novice Chase 2m5½f, Grade 1
Galopin Des Champs could be one of the stars of the season, but small-scale operator Paddy Corkery is not scared of a crack at the big boys with his flagship horse Master McShee, a Grade 1 winner over Christmas at Limerick.
SPOTLIGHT TIP: Galopin Des Champs
Matured well over hurdles last season, exciting chase prospect judged on debut course win
1.32 Musselburgh
bet365 Scottish Triumph Hurdle 1m7½f, Listed
Ruth Jefferson is probably in need of a headline-making horse and may have found one in Inca Prince, who is two from two for the trainer and has champion jockey-elect Brian Hughes aboard for his clash with Lambourn raider Impulsive One.
SPOTLIGHT TIP: Inca Prince
Won by about seven lengths from the front at Catterick and Musselburgh on his two starts for new yard
1.50 Leopardstown
Ladbrokes Dublin Chase 2m1f, Grade 1
Chacun Pour Soi flopped when favourite for the Tingle Creek at Sandown but does not do much wrong on home soil and was impressive in this race 12 months ago. He is well fancied to right his Tingle Creek wrong, but Greaneteen, who won that race, is unlikely to make things straightforward for the ten-year-old.
SPOTLIGHT TIP: Chacun Pour Soi
Three-time course Grade 1 winner can be forgiven below-par run in the Tingle Creek
bet365 Scottish Supreme Novices' Hurdle 1m7½f
Donald McCain has had a sublime season and Since Day One has played his part. Fourth in a Carlisle bumper in October, he is three from three over hurdles and is firmly on an upward trajectory, although he may need more to fend off Restandbethankful, who is rated a 3lb better horse by official BHA assessors.
SPOTLIGHT TIP: Since Day One
3-3 over hurdles with easy wins the last twice; strong claims for last year's winning yard
2.25 Leopardstown
Bulmers Secret Orchard Leopardstown Handicap Chase 2m5½f
Grand National hero Minella Times was an eyecatching second in this race last year and that outing teed him up perfectly for Aintree. He is back for more with one-time potential megastar Samcro and the improving Fakir D'Alene in opposition.
SPOTLIGHT TIP: Birchdale
4lb out of the handicap but good showing is feasible following sixth in the Paddy Power
2.40 Musselburgh
Pertemps Network Group Handicap Hurdle 3m
This term has been a productive one for Martin Keighley, who has already sent out a personal-best tally of winners (37). The promising Brorson has contributed two of those victories, but a host of Irish visitors might complicate his chances of a third.
SPOTLIGHT TIP: Wakool
Has shot up the weights but has been winning with bundles to spare; on a four-timer
Chanelle Pharma Irish Champion Hurdle 2m, Grade 1
All eyes are on Champion Hurdle queen Honeysuckle, who is unbeaten in 13 starts and is set to start odds-on to stretch that run to 14. She appears to have few weaknesses, although Zanahiyr might be best placed if any do exist.
SPOTLIGHT TIP: Honeysuckle
Unbeaten Champion Hurdle winner, twice winner of this race, impossible to oppose
bet365 Scottish Champion Handicap Chase 2m
Only Kelso has been kinder in terms of providing Sandy Thomson with more winners than Musselburgh, where the trainer ought to have claims with the largely consistent Cedar Hill.
SPOTLIGHT TIP: Sarasota Star
His good form has continued and this progressive six-year-old has solid claims
Tattersalls Ireland Novice Hurdle 2m, Grade 1
Sir Gerhard might need to produce something special to shake up the Supreme betting, but he could be capable of that and impressing against a quality field will earn him plenty of extra supporters for the Cheltenham opener.
SPOTLIGHT TIP: Sir Gerhard
Top bumper horse, jumped well and did not have to come off the bridle on hurdling debut
