ITV Racing tips: one key runner from each of the seven races on ITV on Saturday
1.55 Cheltenham
Paddy Power Cheltenham Countdown Podcast Handicap Chase, 2m4½f, Grade 3
Racing Post Gold Cup winner Coole Cody returns to Cheltenham in his bid to continue a fine season in the series of two-and-a-half mile handicaps at the track. Farinet and Jacamar are feared after wins last time out, while Whatmore is interesting off a long absence.
SPOTLIGHT TIP: GALAHAD QUEST
This may be the time to catch him, as he won the Grade 2 juvenile hurdle on this card in 2020
Sky Bet Yorkshire Rose Mares' Hurdle, 2m½f, Grade 2
Defending winner Miranda looks to set the standard in this Grade 2 heat, with the Paul Nicholls-trained mare enjoying a confidence boost on her latest start at Ludlow. Irish challenger Anna Bunina is feared most.
SPOTLIGHT TIP: ANNA BUNINA
Runner-up in Scottish Champion Hurdle last April and may have needed recent reappearance
2.30 Cheltenham
Paddy Power Cotswold Chase, 3m1½f, Grade 2
Chantry House bids to bounce back and book his ticket for the Cheltenham Gold Cup. The Nicky Henderson-trained eight-year-old ran no race when sent off favourite in the King George last month and is fitted with cheekpieces here. Simply The Betts and 2020 winner Santini take him on.
SPOTLIGHT TIP: AYE RIGHT
Better than ever in the Rehearsal Chase at Newcastle last time; bang there on ratings
Saturday's free racing tips: six horses to consider putting in multiples
Albert Bartlett River Don Novices' Hurdle, 3m½f, Grade 2
The Irish trainers dominate those at the top of the Albert Bartlett betting and perhaps John McConnell's Mahler Mission can join them. He will have to topple recent winners Unanswered Prayers and Not At Present.
SPOTLIGHT TIP: MAHLER MISSION
Form of his easy maiden hurdle win at Sedgefield reads well; could play a leading role
3.05 Cheltenham
Welsh Marches Stallions At Chapel Stud Cleeve Hurdle, 3m, Grade 2
Champ shortened in the betting for the Stayers' Hurdle after the shock defeat of Klassical Dream in the week and the recent Long Walk winner can further establish his festival claims here. It will not be straightforward with Paisley Park seeking a third consecutive victory in the race.
SPOTLIGHT TIP: PAISLEY PARK
Possibly ready to shine again, given his Cleeve record (won this in 2019 and 2020)
Sky Bet Handicap Chase, 3m, Listed
Fusil Raffles caught the eye when fourth at Cheltenham last time and will surely be much better suited to this three-mile trip. Well-established chasers Kapcorse, Midnight Shadow and Storm Control are considered but it is bottomweight Cap Du Nord who has been the one attracting market support.
SPOTLIGHT TIP: DEMACHINE
Respectable fifth in Ladbrokes Trophy on return; on a good mark on last season's novice form
3.40 Cheltenham
Ballymore Novices' Hurdle, 2m4½f, Grade 2
Henry Daly appears to have found his new stable star in the form of Hillcrest, who extended his unbeaten run to three with success over course and distance on New Year's Day. Balco Coastal is another smart type while debut winner North Lodge is an intriguing contender.
SPOTLIGHT TIP: HILLCREST
3-3 over hurdles, C&D latest; very big, scopey seven-year-old who looks to have a very bright future
