It's welcome back Cheltenham as the Flat turf season winds down
Racing is at its annual crossroads as Newbury and Doncaster fan the dying embers of another turf Flat season just as Cheltenham heralds the return of winter jump racing.
Flat devotees can gorge themselves on eight races at each of the two turf meetings while Cheltenham, with seven class 2 races, gives jump enthusiasts the chance to mull over the winter ahead.
Kempton and Dundalk pick up the baton at teatime to take racing well into the night ahead of turning back the clocks an hour at the start of Sunday.
And there is also the small matter of the Group 1 Manikato Stakes under the floodlights at Moonee Valley, where US Navy Flag leads a strong team for trainer Aidan O'Brien.
