'It's a mouth-watering clash' - our panel give their verdicts for Champions Day
Josh Apiafi, Keith Melrose and David Redvers have their say on the big meeting
Who do you like in a fantastic running of the Champion Stakes?
Josh Apiafi, Sky Sports Racing presenter After holding Mishriff in the King George and I'll have to stick with Adayar here. I know Mishriff is better over this distance but I believe the weight-for-age allowance is the golden ticket for the son of Frankel, especially when you consider he's built like a heavyweight boxer. The run in the Arc showed he's not the slogger type we may have thought earlier in the year and I think the stiff 1m2f will suit.
Tom Collins, tipster Keeping Mishriff fresh could be the difference between him and Adayar, who had a tough race on testing ground in the Arc just 13 days ago. Although the Godolphin runner got the better of Mishriff in the King George, he was in receipt of 11lb over a trip that stretches the latter's stamina. Over 1m2f with a 7lb swing in the weights, preference goes to the Juddmonte International winner.
Keith Melrose, betting editor I am sure Adayar is the best horse but it's reasonable to have doubts after his rough race at Longchamp. Of those at bigger prices, I would consider Sealiway. He was wide and a long way back in the Arc and did well to finish fifth. That was his first run since finishing second to St Mark's Basilica in the Prix du Jockey Club, so it's hard to rule out more improvement.
