'I'll enjoy watching Jamie ride him' - who'd Dougie Costello like to be aboard?
The Phoenix Stakes takes centre stage on Saturday (4.15). Who wins?
Phill Anderson, Spotlight He's not much of a price, but it's hard to get away from Bradsell. The Coventry form seems the strongest on offer and the race has already produced three subsequent Group 2 winners, two who reoppose him here. He did well to win from his low draw at Ascot and a high draw (6) won't be a negative over this course and distance.
Bobby Beevers, Raceday presenter and founder of Autism In Racing I think it's a cracking race with plenty of them coming into it on the back of victories. If I had to narrow it down to one, I'd side with Little Big Bear. He's looking to land a four-timer and really impressed me last time out in the Anglesey. A repeat of that and he could be hard to beat.
Dougie Costello, jockey The favourite Bradsell is by Tasleet, who I think will be a great sire for the future. He was very impressive at York, destroying the field, and though the form has not really worked out, his Ascot win certainly has. The Hannon team holds Persian Force in high regard and he could be the pace angle in the race. If he gets a soft lead he might be hard to peg back.
