Saturday: Curragh

Brian Duffy will be hoping Magic Chegaga can produce another career-best performance as the trainer's stable star will become his first runner in Group company when she tackles five rivals in the Snow Fairy Stakes (3.40).

The daughter of Teofilo took Duffy's career to new heights when landing the Colm Quinn BMW Mile at the Galway festival, and he will be looking to keep her brilliant season going in this 1m1f Group 3.

It will be Magic Chegaga's second start in Pattern company, with her only previous run coming in a Gowran Park Group 3 last September where she finished last when trained by Tom Gibney. However, Duffy is very pleased with her preparations for this assignment.

He said: "She's in great form and I couldn't be happier with her. Whether that's good enough or not I'm not sure. She has a bit to find on ratings with some of those nice three-year-olds and has to give them weight."

The most intriguing of the three Group 3s at the Curragh on Saturday is the Round Towers Stakes (2.30) in which Paddy Twomey will bid to strike while the iron is still hot with Treasure Trove, a ready winner of the Listed Roses Stakes at York last Saturday.

Twomey said: "She won well at York and we were very happy with her. She's in good form. The race conditions look to suit her and we're looking forward to running her again."

Eddie and Patrick Harty will be hoping €80,000 breeze-up purchase Coralillo can bounce back from her tenth-place finish in the Ballyhane Stakes, and believes the nicer ground at the Curragh will suit.

Joint-trainer Patrick Harty said: "We fancied her to run a nice race in the Ballyhane and unfortunately the rain came. I thought she still ran respectably and wasn't knocked about when her chance was gone. She's been training well at home since. We're delighted with the dry weather all week and the ground should be just right."

Ocean Quest finished third in the Ballyhane on her first run since winning on debut on the opening day of the season, and trainer Jessica Harrington said: "She's a good six-furlong filly. Last time at Naas was her first start for a while, so I'd say that should have put her right. I'm very happy with her."

Twomey will be hoping to get his afternoon off to a good start when Shelton tackles seven rivals in the Newtownanner Stud Stakes (1.55). The Mehmas filly arrives after a good display in a conditions race at this venue last time, and Twomey believes she's ready to progress.

He said: "She won nicely in the Loder race the last day at the track. She's been ticking over well since and I think she's ready to try Group company. We're looking forward to running."

The Harty's are represented by Evening's Empire, with Patrick saying: "She handled the soft ground well at Galway. She's a good-moving filly so I think the nicer ground will be okay for her. I think she's the type who could go well in this race."
