Fear not. The afternoon racing may be coming to a close at 4.30 but this evening's action at Wolverhampton begins just ten minutes later. A number of promising juveniles contest the first three races, after which attention turns to many Dunstall Park regulars in five handicaps.

Escalator (5.10 Wolverhampton)
The market for this 1m½f novice stakes suggests Godolphin's Laieth, trained by Saeed Bin Suroor, should be tough to beat, but Charlie Fellowes's Escalator rates a similarly promising type. The Cape Cross colt trailed the field for most of the way on his first start at Leicester this month after a sluggish start, but caught the eye in the final furlong when staying on into fifth. He can step up markedly on that debut effort this evening.

Roubles (6.10 Wolverhampton)
Elite Racing Club enjoyed a winner at the track on Friday evening with Sentinel scoring for the second time in four days and are represented by Roubles in the 5f handicap. Julie Camacho's filly makes her handicap bow off a mark of 57, and if settling better than on her three starts in maidens, she can go close.

Simply Clever (8.10 Wolverhampton)
Tom Eaves makes the trip from Catterick this afternoon for just one ride in the concluding 1m1f classified stakes aboard David Brown's Simply Clever. The four-year-old filly was a four-time runner-up on the all-weather last winter and has each-way claims in an open contest.
