You would be forgiven for losing count of the number of firsts Hollie Doyle has achieved during her career but her latest Group 1 success on Nashwa last month was worth remembering.

The 25-year-old became the first British woman to win a Classic in the Prix de Diane at Chantilly. For good measure, she also became the first female rider to win a French Classic. Beyond winning a jockeys' title or Classic closer to home, there are few mountains left to climb.

As such, we are well past the point of Doyle's accomplishments being viewed through the lens of her gender and in France she demonstrated the strength and determination that have fuelled her rapid ascent as she guided Nashwa to a narrow victory over La Parisienne.
