Paul Nicholls came out of last weekend totally vindicated after Cyrname produced a scintillating performance to confound the doubters and win the bet365 Charlie Hall Chase at Wetherby.

I was among those who questioned the wisdom of sending Cyrname left-handed and I'm happy to accept that I got it wrong. Not for the first time, Nicholls' assessment was spot on and history suggests the Ditcheat trainer will be the man of the weekend again.
