'His work was electric and I think we will see a pretty special performance'
Oli Bell, Richard Birch and David Baxter have their say on the weekend action
Native Trail is a warm order for the Dewhurst. Are you with him or against him?
David Baxter, Juvenile Judge It's very difficult to be against him. He's looked excellent while shaping as though he'll be better again at three when facing a mile. He's followed the same route Charlie Appleby used with his previous top juvenile colts, so I'm hoping we see another exciting performance.
Oli Bell, broadcaster At the prices I'm against him. He's clearly exceptionally talented but Straight Answer was hugely impressive last time out, is also unbeaten and is five times the price of Native Trail. We could clearly see a box office performance from Native Trail but the value is probably elsewhere in the race which is why I feel I have to take him on.
Richard Birch, tipster I couldn't back Native Trail at 8-11. The third, fourth and seventh behind him in the National Stakes all sank without trace in their subsequent starts. Masekela, second by a short head at Newmarket, was well beaten in the Royal Lodge and although Native Trail may have been firmly on top at the finish at the Curragh he took an eternity to hit top stride.
