'He's one of the best-handicapped hurdlers in Britain' - the final jury of 2022
Hermes Allen heads the Challow market. Are you with or against him?
Jack Haynes, reporter I was so impressed by Hermes Allen (3.00) at Cheltenham, particularly by his jumping, and would be with him rather than against him. It's questionable how strong that form is but he will be hard to pass if getting into a similar rhythm and can seal a hat-trick in the race for Paul Nicholls and Harry Cobden.
Jamie McBride, William Hill At the likely prices I would be against him, he has looked very good so far but there are 11 other horses who won last time out in opposition and this is clearly his toughest test yet. Joyeux Machin and Vicki Vale would be my two.
Tom Park, weeklies editor It's pleasing to see so many runners declared and that makes Hermes Allen a backable price. He looked awesome at Cheltenham but perhaps got a soft lead and you'd suspect he won't have things so easy here. I'd still rather be a backer than a layer.
