Gaelic Warrior, a 14-1 shot for the Ballymore Novices' Hurdle, makes his second appearance for Willie Mullins at Tramore on Tuesday.

His first outing for the champion trainer was in the Boodles Juvenile Handicap Hurdle at Cheltenham in March and he arrived at the festival as one of biggest talking horses running across the entire four days.

Supported all the way into 13-8 favourite, despite the fact he was making his stable debut and only had three winless runs in France under his belt, Gaelic Warrior led most of the way and was only collared in the final stride by Brazil, having traded at a low of 1.22 in-running on Betfair.

He did not run again afterwards, with Mullins retaining his novice status for this season. That looks a shrewd move and his path to a potential crack at the Ballymore begins in the 2m maiden hurdle (12.45).

Mullins said of Gaelic Warrior: "The ground looks like it's going to be nice and safe at Tramore and we're looking forward to getting him out again. He's been working well, he jumps well and this looked a nice starting point for his season."
