Yorkshire Wonder Horse Search Is On Handicap | 1m2f | 4yo+ | RTV

Tim Easterby and Mark Johnston have been the trainers to follow in this 1m2f handicap as six of the last nine runnings have gone their way.

Easterby has plundered four of those and relies on Fishable to improve that impressive statistic. Fishable is by strong soft-ground influence Dutch Art and produced a career-best RPR of 100 the last time he encountered such conditions.

There will undoubtedly be a bit of cut in the ground at Pontefract and that will suit Fishable, but the likely going must be a minor concern for the Johnstons' representative Love Is Golden, one of two for the stable along with March Law.

Love Is Golden is match-fit having finished second to a revitalised sort at Doncaster in March, but he probably enjoyed the run of the race there and this contest looks hotter.

Among those also on the scoresheet in the last nine runnings are John and Thady Gosden, who struck last year with an unexposed four-year-old in Waldkonig. Peter The Great has a similar profile and bids to follow suit.

Peter The Great's previous handicap form has worked out exceptionally well and it is worth monitoring runners from this source closely at the West Yorkshire track.

Pride Of America is the only last-time-out scorer and is up 4lb for a commanding front-running victory at Newcastle in March.

Returning from a 477-day break on his stable debut for Amy Murphy, the lightly raced Pride Of America should have more to offer on turf for a trainer with a useful 36 per cent strike-rate at the track.

What they say

Charlie Fellowes, trainer of Injazati
He really improved with racing last year and finished off with a really good run at Newmarket when he travelled up as well as anything before not quite getting home. The drop back in trip will suit him and he'll love the soft ground. If he's the stakes horse we think he is, he'll have to be going very close here.

Stuart Williams, trainer of Rhythmic Intent
It's his first run of the year and he was gelded over the winter, but he's in good form. It looks a competitive race with some of his rivals having decent form, but the string has been in good form and so has the jockey [Marco Ghiani], so I'm sure he'll run well.

Robert Havlin, rider of Peter The Great
I rode him in work on Saturday morning and he feels in good shape. It looks a tight race. He'll come on for the run fitness wise, but he's been gelded and is in good form.

Nicola Barron, joint-trainer of Baryshnikov
He had a consistent season last year, winning a couple of races, and this seems a good place to start him off. He's in good form, has gone well at the track before and won't mind the ground.

Amy Murphy, trainer of Pride Of America
He's a lovely horse who won on his debut for us. It looks a step up against this opposition but he's in great form and has a run under his belt, so we thought we'd take our chance.
