With sub-zero temperatures continuing to wreak havoc, eyes turn to the all-weather and an intriguing nursery handicap at Southwell where Pocket The Packet looks to continue his red-hot form with a fifth win in six starts.
A gelding operation in June has worked wonders for the George Boughey-trained juvenile with his only defeat since the surgery coming when not quite getting home over seven furlongs at Newcastle.
Pocket The Packet's first victory of his remarkable run came off a mark of just 45 on October 21 and he runs here off 75, highlighting just how much he's improved in five starts.
However, he faces arguably his biggest test to date in this 0-85 Class 4 and a 6lb penalty for his latest win at Lingfield means he is running off a mark 3lb higher than he would have been without being penalised.
Elegant Charm looks a serious threat to Pocket The Packet's hat-trick attempt, with the unexposed Charlie Appleby runner set to build on a couple of good runs at Kempton.
He was second to Tenjin on the first of those runs, but reversed the placings on his next start with a more prominent ride seemingly proving the winning trick and that form looks solid.
Rocking Ends kicked off his season in the Brocklesby and has won twice in seven starts for Brett Johnson. He perhaps bumped into one when second to Michaela's Boy at Chelmsford last time and isn't ruled out off the same mark of 79.

What they say
Danny Muscutt, rider of Elegant Charm
I rode against her last time when she won impressively and she was a bit green that day so hopefully there is more to come.
Brett Johnson, trainer of Rocking Ends
Our main worry is if he gets the six furlongs as he’s previously been over five, but he’s in good shape at home and hopefully runs a big one.
Grant Tuer, trainer of Glorious Angel
She’s back in trip but is a speedy type with good gate speed so we’re hoping this trip will suit her. It’s a competitive nursery but hopefully she’ll be in the shake-up.
Brian Meehan, trainer of Beach Buoy
He was probably not at his best at Kempton last time but he may well have been in a decent race. It’s nice to get him into a nursery and this looks a good spot for him.
George Boughey, trainer of Pocket The Packet
He’s on a hat-trick after back to back wins at Lingfield and should go well again as he’s in good form with himself at home.
