'He has a cracking chance in the Ebor' - experts deliver their weekend verdicts
It's Ebor day at York. Who wins the big one?
Trainer George Boughey Paddy Twomey was very good to me when I started training and I'd love to see Earl Of Tyrone win for him. He has the perfect profile for a trainer and jockey combination that can do nothing wrong. He beat a very fair yardstick [Raise You] on his last start and looks the proverbial Group horse in a handicap.
Tipster Gerald Delamere This is typically competitive and there isn't much obvious pace. I like the prospects of Gaassee, who won at the Dante meeting and is bred to improve at this trip. In the Old Newton Cup at Haydock he was locked away on the rails turning for home, he eventually got clear over a furlong out but Get Shirty had flown. I also have a feeling that will outrun his odds.
Betfair's Barry Orr Following some decent efforts in defeat Alfred Boucher got off the mark for new connections at York over 2m on Wednesday. They are turning him out quickly and he'll carry a penalty but the way he travelled and picked up when asked was very impressive. I don't think the drop back in trip will inconvenience him.
