Hannon hoping patient approach pays off with talented Estidhkaar

They say good things come to those who wait and Richard Hannon has waited longer than most with Estidhkaar.

This time two years ago Estidhkaar was the beaten favourite in the Dewhurst. He returned to finish second in the Greenham, a neck behind Muhaarar, and was sent off at 6-1 for Gleneagles' Guineas, but finished 14th. He has been sighted just twice since: in last year's Prix Jacques le Marois and at Salisbury earlier this month.

Hannon runs the four-year-old in the Listed "Hats Off" To Steve Brown Ben Marshall Stakes (4.40), in which he faces the likes of Hugo Palmer's four-timer-seeking Murad Khan, Martyn Meade's C Note and the Godolphin pair of Latharnach and Team Talk, and he said: "We've had to be very patient with Estidhkaar but I hope it will all pay off.
