Could we be set for a poignant success in the race named after trainer Paul Fahey's admirable campaigner He'llberemembered, a winner of this contest on three occasions?

Grade 2-winning chaser Ballyshannon Rose, representing the same stable as He'llberemembered, has won on her last three visits to Thurles and receives weight from all rivals in this conditions event.

She put in a sub-standard round of jumping when last seen tackling a handicap chase at the Listowel harvest festival, but it's possible she could be a different proposition back over hurdles.

Race fitness is on her side, though her peak chasing rating of 138 leaves her with a bit to find on the likes of Cape Gentleman (rated 151 over fences) and French Dynamite (147 over fences).

Cape Gentleman, trained by Emmet Mullins, likely would have finished fourth on his last start in the Kerry National had he not come down on the landing side of the final fence when staying on.

He hasn't been seen over hurdles since finishing third as favourite in last year's Galway Hurdle but boasts some quality form in this sphere. He could be the one to beat.

French Dynamite is one of two in the race for Mouse Morris, who also saddles the talented but frustrating Foxy Jacks.

If sharp enough on his first start since finishing third in a valuable novice handicap chase at the Punchestown festival, French Dynamite looks the pick of the pair and should go close.

Gordon Elliott won this race in 2020 with The Bosses Oscar and this time relies on twice-raced youngster Jaycean.

An impressive maiden hurdle winner on his debut at Navan in January, the five-year-old has been absent since pulling up in a novice hurdle at the same venue in March when found to be clinically abnormal post race.

What they say

Gordon Elliott, trainer of Jaycean
It's his first start of the season after a break. He won nicely at Navan and seems to have come back to us a lot stronger.

Mouse Morris, trainer of Foxy Jacks and French Dynamite
Hopefully running back over hurdles might boost Foxy Jacks' confidence after his last couple of starts over fences [when failing to complete]. French Dynamite has a nice weight and seems to have done well over the summer. He's been running over fences too but this looked like a suitable race for him to start back in.

Alice Curran, trainer of Jacksons Gold
It's his first run back after a break so he'll probably come on for the run. We can go back over fences with him in time too.

Paul Fahey, trainer of Ballyshannon Rose
We've sponsored this race over the past few years so we'd love to have a go at winning it ourselves. This run over hurdles won't do the mare any harm after she jumped a bit disappointingly at Listowel last time. She's had four runs at Thurles and won three times so she seems to get on well around there too.
