Horses are not often sold after being pulled up in a point, but Noel Kelly saw something in Decor Irlandais that nobody else did at Kirkistown in February, 2018.

Despite form figures of P4PP, Kelly got his cheque book out and offered €1,000 for a horse who had failed to complete on three of his four starts between the flags. Unsurprisingly, hand and all was snapped off.

On Saturday that seemingly limited son of Hello Sunday steps up to Grade 2 company in the Ballymore Leamington Novices' Hurdle at Warwick as a 145-rated seven-year-old who has won seven times, and could be on course for a crack at the Ballymore Novices' Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival in March.
